The design for this Gainesville home evokes memories of a sunny and sultry Key West – the client’s previous home base for decades. We honored that lived experience through subtle tropical touches like the turquoise zellige tiles in the kitchen, the Pierre Frey palm leaf wallpaper in the lounge and the saturated sunset colors on the ceiling with the goal to continue to inspire this couple through their retirement. We achieved this through the use of contemporary pieces, like the asymmetrical rugs, the curvy lounge sofa, unique light fixtures and punchy color palette to bring a much-needed zing to a traditional home.
